Fring—a free chat client for the iPhone that supports most standards—has been updated to support video conferencing on the iPhone, using Wi-Fi. It works on Fring to Fring, and Skype to Fring. Unfortunately, it’s not bi-directional. You would be able to see whoever is calling you from a desktop, but you won’t be able to transmit your image, even if you have the 3G videoconferencing kit. The reason is a physical one, according to the developer: The iPhone doesn’t have a front camera, so you can’t do face to face.
Which begs the question once again: When in the name of all that is good and chromed is Apple going to update the iPhone with a front camera and iChat AV? Given their push for videoconferencing on the desktop, the power in the current iPhone, and the efficiency of their iChat AV video codecs, it can’t be far away. I hope. [iTunes App Store]
These are instructions on how to jailbreak and unlock your iPhone 3G and 3GS using BlackRa1n and BlackSn0w for Windows.
These instructions will work with the latest 3.1.2 firmware, the 05.11.07 baseband, and iPhones which require hactivation.
For those with a new iPhone 3GS (updated Bootrom), BlackRa1n only supports a tethered jailbreak. This means that once jailbroken you should not let your battery die. If it does die you will need to reconnect it to the computer and use BlackRa1n to boot it.
Before continuing make sure you are on the 05.11.07 baseband by following this tutorial. If you are not please update your firmware to 3.1.2 using iTunes before continuing.
You can find the Mac version of this tutorial here. Ok lets begin…
Step One
Open your web browser of choice and navigate to http://www.blackra1n.com. Click theWindows logo at the bottom of the screen.

Step Two
When prompted save the download to your desktop

Step Three
Then double click the blackra1n executable file from the desktop to launch the program

Step Four
Make sure your iPhone or iPod is connected to the computer then click the large make it ra1nbutton

Step Five
You iPhone will now be placed in recovery mode.

You will see a picture of GeoHot that replaces the regular recovery mode screen on your device.

blackra1n will run and then your device will reboot.

A popup message will appear informing you that BlackRa1n is free software and if you appreciate it you can donate to GeoHot at geohot@gmail.com.

Step Six
Once your device reboots it will be jailbroken and you will notice a blackra1n icon on the Springboard. Make sure you have an internet connection and press to launch the application.

BlackRa1n will begin to download and install the package you selected.

If you chose to unlock device using blacksn0w you will be presented with a Post Install log for sn0w. CommCenter will be restarted and there is no need to reboot. If your carrier doesn’t support 3G then disable it. Press the Close button to continue.

These are instructions on how to jailbreak your iPhone and iPod touch using BlackRa1n for Mac.
The BlackRa1n jailbreak will work with the latest 3.1.2 firmware; however, it will not hacktivate your iPhone. This means that if you are not on an official Apple approved carrier BlackRa1n cannot activate it.
For those with the new iPod touch, BlackRa1n only supports a tethered jailbreak. This means that once jailbroken you should not let your battery die. If it does die you will need to reconnect it to the computer and use BlackRa1n to boot it.
WARNING: Even though the GeoHot jailbreak supports 3.1.2 do not update if you are on iPhone OS 3.0.1 or 3.0. You will lose your unlock. Use PwnageTool to safely update to 3.1 without performing a baseband update. If you really must have 3.1.2 then wait for the next version of PwnageTool. If you have already updated to 3.1 or 3.1.2 without using PwnageTool then you’ve lost the ability to unlock for the time being. You can now use BlackRa1n to at least regain your jailbreak

This is one of the best product(cover) I have ever seen for iPhone/iPod. Well, you have to protect the screen though.
Reports of iPhones exploding, starting fires and killing people in cold blood have been around since the inception of the handset. They’ve also been relatively sporadic, seemingly short on evidence, and Apple hasn’t given complaints much credence or response. So when we heard a story from France the other day about a security guard’s iPhone “exploding” and sending a shard of glass into his eye (though apparently not serious enough to warrant a hospital visit), it was a little hard to believe, but with a few other stories of cracking screens due to overheating cropping up in Europe over the past couple weeks, French authorities have taken an interest in the story. Anecdotally, a teen says his phone “imploded” in Belgium and gave him a headache, a woman’s phone cracked without warning, and ten or so victims in France have come forward to complain of similar problems, picking up the interest of a French consumer watchdog group. Apple is naturally not new to the concept of overheating in its battery-powered devices — in fact, it’s just entered into its first full-on iPod nano recall in Korea of the 1st-gen players after numerous reports of battery faultiness worldwide — but with 26 million iPhones out and about, and the iPhone 3GS tending to run a bit hotter than its siblings, a systemic problem with one or all models of the handsets isn’t something consumers or Apple would take lightly.
Herve Novelli, France’s top trade official, met with Apple France’s Michel Coulomb today to discuss the problem, and so far Apple is sticking to its guns: it claims that reported incidents are in the single digits, and that all cases it’s investigated fully so far have turned out to be blamed on “external force” to the screen. Herve and Michel seem to have parted on friendly terms, promising to keep in touch over the issue, and the EU’s alert system for dangerous consumer products (inexplicably dubbed RAPEX) is staying in the loop as well, asking the 27 member nations to keep tabs on the situation. Novelli says it’s “too early to blame anyone,” and we’d have to agree, but we hope Apple keeps up the (freshly) open communication about this issue going forward.

Keepin’ it rea fake this sentence people should somehow see it somewhere on the internet.
Some unknown factories, they make cheap products’ clone, most of them are high tech, very famous top selling products. For example, iPhone clone, Macbook clone, G1 Android clone… and most importantly they are all made in China, I don’t know how they did it. Maybe actual user interface is different(never use it before) but by looking they look exactly the same(oh, I haven’t mention they also improved the tech-I will talk about that later for the iPhone). One of the obvious difference is THE PRICE – cheap!
Why call is Shanzhai not just XXX’s clone is simply because the products are made in China you heard it from Chinese, and people likes to give their products a name. Call it clone doesn’t sound good, its like almost fake products(it is but you don’t really call your stuff XXX’s clone right), So Shanzhai is the new trend word, its like a fashion, they changes from time to time. Western counties don’t really have Shanzhai cuz the special Chinese background made it – simply explain it “hundreds thousands years ago, bunch of good or bad people took a mountains/village build themselves cottages to against the government at that period of time. Their territory called Shanzhai.” but if I use google translate Shanzhai means cottage. I think that is the closest meaning we can get if you don’t know the background.
So let’s get back to the Shanzhai products(btw, Shanzhai is not a manufactory but a name, No matter which factory made what products we all call it Shanzhai).
Some creepy guy make that iPhone ad. LMAO!
